You’re wise to be thinking about instructing the services of an International Removals specialist. But there are many to choose from, and they’re most certainly not all the same.
Comparing quotes is a worthwhile process, and the only way to ensure you’re getting value-for-money. It also gives you an opportunity to find out exactly what services are on offer. Here are some tips to help you make the right decision for your circumstances:
• Check the quotes are for a like-for-like service. If one of the costings is wildly different to the others, it’s worth finding out why. Perhaps they’ve included extras, like lofts and garden areas, that the others haven’t – or vice versa.
• Is each company offering the same? This can vary tremendously – from full packing, crating and special wrapping of certain items, to shuttle services and an outside elevator for easier access. How about parking fees or other additional charges? What’s included in the price?
• Cheapest isn’t always best, and you’re far less likely to enjoy a stress-free move if you base your decision purely on price. Seek value-for-money instead. Choosing the cheapest company might also mean opting for the one with the lowest standards – and the highest risk of your items getting damaged.
• Check to see who is behind the quote. Some individual brands have the same owner. For example, Pickfords and Anglo Pacific are sometimes also known as Team Relocations Group. It may not be worth your time asking each to quote or visit you separately.
