This prestigious accolade, endorsed by His Majesty the King and recommended by the Prime Minister, marks a significant milestone in our 140-year history.
The King’s Award for Enterprise is the highest official UK award for British businesses. It recognises and celebrates business excellence across the UK. Being awarded by His Majesty the King is one of the most robust endorsements a company can receive, symbolising trust, quality, and excellence. For John Mason International, receiving this accolade not only highlights our unwavering commitment to global moving services but also aligns with our values of innovation and customer care—principles that have guided us from our humble beginnings to our current global reach.
Founded in 1884 by Mary Mason with just a horse and cart, John Mason International began by delivering coal across Liverpool. Today, we are proud to facilitate the relocation of over 10,000 people annually to destinations such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the USA, and the Middle East. This award celebrates our remarkable evolution from a local service to a leader in global mobility, orchestrating over one million moves since our inception.
In 2021, under the new ownership of Simon Hood through a management buy-out, John Mason International not only continued this legacy but also saw significant growth. Turnover increased from £6.6 million in 2020 to £13.5 million by 2022, with overseas sales rising from £5.6 million to £12.3 million, thus greatly expanding our international footprint.
The award ceremony promises to be a memorable event, as representatives from John Mason International will be invited to Windsor Castle for an audience with His Majesty The King in July. Additionally, the Lord-Lieutenant, His Majesty The King’s personal representative in our county, will present the award at our main place of business. This special celebration will be an opportunity to honour all those who have contributed to our success.
