Foreigners (Non-Thai Nationals)
The shipper will need to import their items within the validity period of their Non-Immigrant visa or work permit for duty-free entry. The date of arrival will be classed as the date on the Immigration admission stamp in your passport.
The following documents will need to be provided in order to clear customs in Thailand:
Original passport with arrival stamp
Original Non-Immigrant visa or work permit
Detailed inventory list
Authorization letter
The visa/work permit must be valid for the duration of the import process otherwise duties can occur (7% import duty + 7% VAT).
It is very important that these documents are provided when shipping to Thailand when requested and meet required validity periods otherwise the shipment will not be able to be imported duty-free or tax/duty could be payable.
Foreign citizens (i.e. non-Thais) are only allowed to import 1 x sea shipment and 1 x air shipment duty and tax-free per family unit. Air shipment must arrive before sea shipment. Each family is limited to reasonable household appliances (1 fridge, 1 cooker, 1 washing machine, 1 TV).
