Career Opportunities in Costa Rica
Costa Rica’s stable economy offers opportunities in ecotourism, tech (especially near San José’s “Silicon Valley”), medical devices, agribusiness like coffee and bananas, and renewable energy. English-speaking expats often land roles in multinationals, call centres, NGOs, or remote work, thanks to the Digital Nomad Visa. A move from the UK to Costa Rica suits those seeking work-life balance, sustainability-focused careers, and a tropical base for Central American ventures.
Studying in Costa Rica
Costa Rica hosts respected universities like University of Costa Rica (UCR), Tecnológico de Costa Rica (TEC), and Universidad Latina, with strong programs in environmental science, biology, business, and Spanish studies. International students enjoy low-cost tuition, eco-campus settings amid rainforests, and immersion in sustainable living. Those using relocation services to Costa Rica can merge academics with adventures in volcanoes, beaches, and wildlife reserves.
Nature and Outdoor Escapes
Expats thrive on hiking Arenal Volcano trails, zip-lining through Monteverde cloud forests, or surfing at Tamarindo and Playa Nosara beaches. National parks like Manuel Antonio offer wildlife spotting, monkeys, sloths, and toucans, while diving in Cahuita or scuba spots reveals vibrant reefs. Weekend retreats to hot springs, waterfalls, or coffee plantation tours blend relaxation with discovery.

San José’s craft beer bars, soda eateries serving gallo pinto and casados, and live marimba music create casual hangouts. Join yoga retreats, farmers’ markets, or beach soccer with locals in Guanacaste.
